My First Christmas!

The fastest follow up post in GrowingUpCadel history!

Last Friday Cadel celebrated his first Christmas. It was a complete afair with a large full tree nicely decorated with ornaments and lights as well as four stockings hung over the fireplace. One stocking for each of us (dog included).

Cadel loved the tree. Mostly for the lights but he was all about playing with the ornaments. If you left him on the floor he would crawl right over to the tree and stare at it. It was also a great way to get him to quite down a little. If he was a little fusy just take him over to the Christmas tree with the lights on and presto! Quite baby.

Christmas actually started on Wednesday night for Cadel when Grandpa was nice enough to drive up to our house from La Honda. We had a very nice visit and dinner together. Cadel received a great present he was allowed to open that night since Grandpa came all that way to see him. Cadel loves the gift and has played with it everday since then.
Everyone opened their presents on Christmas morning. Cadel received a lot of presents. A few too many in my opinion but it was his first Christmas so whatever. Cadel got two nice presents from Uncle Nate and Sunny, a present from Uncle Greg and Lisset and several from Mom and Dad. His favorite present....playing with all the paper and boxes. Of course. What could be better. We played the rest of the day before heading over to uncle Mike and Melissa's house in Oakland for a Christmas night dinner complete with gift exchange. Cadel held up well for a while but then was lights out. Mom was nice enough (and patient enough) to put him to sleep while everyone else ate and drank in the livingroom.

Once the gift exchange started the claws came out. Grandmonthers and Great Grandmothers were having their gifts stole, alliances were forming, scheming was taking place. It was like an episode of Surivor. So I'm exagerating slightly. Erin and I end up with a Tea gift set and a cheese cake made at home by a trained pastry chef who was at the gift exchange. Delicious! Luckly our neighbors were nice enough to take some of the cake off of our hands (and waists). Next year we'll be back with a vengence at the gift exchange. More strategy is necessary for sure.

Thanks to Grandpa Ken, Mike, Melissa, Shauna, Zach, GG (great grandma Dorothy), Nate, Sunny, Greg, Lisset and everyone else who helped Cadel celebrate his first Christmas.

This is most likely the last post of 2009. See you in the new year. Here comes Cadel 2010. I hope you are ready.

My First Hannukah (and trip to Redding)

And..... we are finally back to updating the blog. Again Dad is falling off the pace here. The holidays are busy. Give me a break in the holiday spirit :).

As many of you know Cadel is a lucky little one as he gets to celebrate Hannukah and Christmas. We'll go over Hannukah first then Christmas.

For Cadel's first Hannukah he and Dad drove up to Redding with Scarlett (the dog). Both Cadel and Scarlett were very good on the long rainy drive. We stopped once for each which was just fine. When he wasn't sleeping Cadel was happy to watch the countryside roll on by. Such a good kid.
Mom was not with us because a couple days before hand she left for Bend Oregon and Cyclocross Nationals. She joined us in Redding after racing on Friday December 12th in the Masters 30-35 catagory. Impressive enough that she was racing six months after having a child. But if you add that the race course was covered in snow and it was about 12 degrees outside at race time you realize what a tough cookie Cadel has for a Mommy.

Back to Redding. We arrived at Savta and Dave's house in the late afternoon just before the cold and dark started to settle in. It was nice to get inside the warm house at that piont. Sun down the day we arrived was the first night of Hannukah (the picture above). Savta, Cadel and I lit candels in the same menorah Savta and I used to lite candels in when I was a little boy. Very cool I think.
The next day Savta wanted to drive around and show off her grandson. Who wouldn't? We made three stops and Cadel was great the whole time. Soon after we got home we left again to pick up Mom. She headed back from National a day early to spend more time with the family. That night another family joined us for Hannukah dinner complete with latkes and kugel. Very tasty.

A very nice visit to Redding. Even Scarlett had a great time as she played endlessly with Bubba (their dog) in the front yard all weekend.

Next is the Christmas post!

My First Thanksgiving

I know I'm very late with this post but better late than never.

Mom, Dad and Cadel were lucky enough to spend Thanksgiving in Healdsburg this year at the home of Stephen and Zoe Schwartz. A big thank you to Steve and Zoe for their hospitality again this year. There were about 15 people present at dinner this year including Cadel's cousins Zach and Shauna.
The Schwartz were even nice enough to let us bring along the dog. Scarlett was very happy to not be stuck at home this year.
Dinner was very nice and Cadel was great. He even had some butter nut squash with Dad at the table. He is turning into a great little eater. We still can't figure out how he doesn't put on more weight. He now eats 'real food' twice a day and has milk for the rest of his meals. Butter nut squash is quickly gaining on apple sauce as Cadel's favorite food.

Aside from Thanksgiving the other big news is that Cadel is on the move. There is no more just letting him roll around on floor. He can now army crawl from one side of the den to the other in no time. The baby proofing of the house has now began and Mom and Dad really really have to keep an eye on him. The dog is even keeping an eye on him too. She is more concerned about Cadel getting a handful of fur than where he is going. In fact she would rather him find other items in the house more interesting than her but I don't think that is going to happen. Scarlett definitely is better than any toy Cadel has.

We are currently in Redding visiting Savta and Dave. We'll have another post soon. I'm serious this time. No more than a week from now.

Races, Check up & Sitting up

Lots has been happening in Cadel's life over the past week. But first let's talk about how cute this kid is. I mean come on look at this picture on the left. I know I'm Dad so I should think he is the cutest thing ever but he pretty much is. Just wait until you get our holiday card. Then you make the call if he is not on top of the list of super cute six month olds.

So what did Cadel get for his six month birthday? Unfortunately it was his six month doctor's visit which included four shots. Ouch! He was not happy to say the least. The good news to come out of the appointment is even though Cadel is at the very low end of the weight range, 7th percentile, he is very healthy. He is 40th percentile for height. Tallish and lean. Starting to look more and more like Dad everyday. Well except for the tall part.
He also showed off his emerging crawling skills during his appointment. He is now getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. Not long before he is crawling. He also has two teeth coming in. Both on the bottom.

This past Saturday Cadel went to the San Francisco Bike Expo held at the Cow Palace. There was a bike fair, a cyclocross race and a freestyle bike dirt jumping contest. The cyclocross course was the most difficult one I've ever seen. The freestyle dirt jumps were about 20 feet tall. It was amazing to see the guys fly over them.

As you can see from the first picture Cadel is now sitting up unassisted and with very good posture if I do say so myself. In addition to sitting up and getting up on his hands and knees Cadel has figured out that he can get from one place to another by rolling over and over. He is also reaching for what he wants. His muscle control and coordination is very impressive. The coordination must be from Mom. Sure isn't from Dad.
To sum up Cadel's traits from Dad we have: eyes, body type and (it looks like) face & head shape. From Mom we have hair color, coordination and pretty much personality. We'll have to wait to see how he develops in the future to see if these aspects of Cadel hold true.

A San Diego Weekend

Cadel, Mom and Dad were all in San Diego last weekend for Emma Peddycord's first birthday party. It was a smashing success. A circus theme was in affect for the party and everyone, adult and child, had a great time. Her parents throw a great first birthday party especially with about 45 people in attendance.

Emma and Cadel got along very well. They even shared toys even though she is twice his age. The weather in San Diego was fantastic as always. I took Cadel to the beach a couple times as you can see from the pictures. The first time was with Emma and her dad. We lounged on the beach So. Cal style and walked around in the (small) waves a little. Cadel wasn't sure what to make of all seagulls or the waves but he seemed to really enjoy the beach.
The next morning Cadel and I took anther walk to the beach to see the big waves. It was high tide so we didn't get to walk on the beach but the view from up above was good as well. We stayed and watched a lone surfer try to catch a wave for about 10 minutes before finishing our walk around Solana Beach.

This trip was fun for all as Ryan and Jamie arranged for their baby sitter to come over on Friday night. This allowed the four adults to go out for a nice dinner. We went to the Samurai restaurant for some fun teppanyaki cooking. The meal was great as food and company were awesome. We called it a night after a quick swing by Basket Robins for some ice cream. Oh how our lives have changed in such a short period.

The trip was fun from beginning to end. Cadel even received several compliments on the plane rides for being such a good baby and not screaming like some other little passengers.

So bye for now San Diego. We'll be back again for sure.

Halloween Part Deux

This seems hard to believe but on Halloween there was a zoo keeper chasing a monkey who was chasing a banana. They were first spotted in Santa Cruz then again right in front of our house. This picture is proof. As it turns out the banana caught the monkey who was then caught by the zoo keeper. Very cute monkey don't you think? Even if he wouldn't smile for the camera.

Cadel's first Halloween started with a long drive down to Santa Cruz for Mom's first race back in action since Cadel joined us. The race was the annual Surf City Halloween cyclocross race. Race participants included pink dinosaurs, a salmon, Jimi Hendrix, Kiss members, a shark and all other manner of costume. Those were all in the fun race.

When everyone got down to serious business Mom was off! She did very well for only having a baby five months ago. What a trooper. Everyone was very impressed to say the least. Scarlett came with us as well and kept Cadel and Dad company while Mom was doing her thing with her teammates. Only a few more years and cadel can race in the kids fun race. Yay!

The drive back was long and hot. We made one ill advised stop but did manage to get back home just in time for the tail end of the neighborhood Halloween party. Too bad we missed most of it but there is always next year. Cadel called it a night a little early on his first Halloween. Unfortunately this maybe the only Halloween where Cadel won't be eating candy and bouncing off the walls for days afterward. But isn't that half the fun....

Nicasio Pumpkin Patch

This is the first of a two part Halloween post.

Part one is our trip to the Nicasio Pumpkin patch in, where else, Nicasio.

A month or so before Halloween each year the farmer who runs his farm on this land builds hay stack mazes, puts up huge inflatable "bouncy-houses" and slides, sets up a tractors for hay rides and covers about 200 square meters of land in all shapes, sizes and colors of pumpkins. It is a Marin favorite for sure.

While Cadel provides his usual straight face for the camera he did have a great time helping Mom and Dad pick out pumpkins for the family. This years trip was really more for Mom and Dad but Cadel did get to ride in the wheel barrow with the pumpkins and take some cute pictures. Next year he can choose his own pumpkin. Dad wants one big enough for him to sit... Mom not so much.

We'll have to wait and see who Cadel sides with next year.
Check back in a couple days for Halloween blog entry part two complete with a picture of the family costume.

The Wonderful World of Food

No new pictures for this post. Sorry about that. We will get to taking some new pictures very soon.

Cadel's adventures in eating continue. So far he has tasted bananas, sweet potatoes, sweet peas, carrots, apples and pears. I think he had pears.... oh well. Let's just say he did. The favorites by far seem to be apples and carrots. He made short work of his first jar of carrots. The apple sauce was no match for his little appetite either. The sweet potatoes fall to the bottom of the list. Peas are probably a close second to last. The funniest thing about Cadel eating is when he is done. He goes from eating like a little monster to completely ignoring the food between bites. Sometime is it after three or four spoonfuls. Sometimes it isn't until he has reached the bottom of the jar. This would be a great video. Watch for that soon.

Everything Cadel is easting so far is sugar free and organic just the way mom and dad want it. We try to eat as little processed/preservative laden food as possible so Cadel gets the same. The apple sauce was even a local product we picked up at the Marin Farmers Market (see previous post for information on this). We are such Marinites.

I don't know what happened to that couple who used to eat 'Super Burritos' from Zona Rosa in SF at midnight then wake up at 10 the next day and walk over to the Pork Store on upper Haight St for a 2,000 calorie breakfast. Ahhhhh the memories....

Friday, October 9, 2009

Sorry for being a couple days late on the follow up post I promised earlier this week. But without further ado here we go.

Cadel had his four month check up last week. He is healthy as can be and was classified by his doctor as an "easy baby." Yay! Mom and dad are happy about that diagnosis. The doctor was impressed with Cadel's head control and attentiveness. She was also very pleased to here he is rolling over from back to stomach and stomach to back. She was also a little surprised to here he is in the early stages of crawling. Currently Mr. Cadel is 'army' crawling on his belly. As soon as he figures out how to push himself up on his arms he will be crawling all over the house.

But back to the check up. Cadel weighed in at 13 lbs 2oz. A little slim on the weight side of things. That is only the 15th percentile. Being that dad was never above the 30th percentile in weight I don't expect he would ever get too high. His head size was in the 35th percentile. Not bad. Who wants a big head? But the best news was that he was in the 56th percentile in height. That's what I'm talking about. Maybe Cadel can achieve Dad's goal of being six feet tall. I doubt it but we can dream.

Not to end on a bad note but there were also a couple shots involved in the check up. He didn't seem to be bothered that much until the second shot. He got over the shots pretty quick. Way to be a tough cookie kid.

Yum Yum Yum

Cadel has started to eat regular food! He started with a little simple rice cereal. After a few days of that he moved on to fruits and vegetables. So far Cadel has tried bananas, pears and sweet potatoes. Pears appear to be his favorite but bananas are a close second. I think the sweet potatoes are last. After four of five bites he is finished. But if you take out the pears he will usually eat half the jar. Mom and Dad also tried the food. I have to agree the pears are the best. Once we start making the food ourselves I'm sure bananas will make a run at first place.

Just as a side note from Dad. Cadel's hair appears very red in this picture. It isn't that red. More of a brunet/auburn color. Not that there is anything wrong with red hair. I'm still pulling for a switch to dark brown/black. We'll see which color prevails as years go past.

Look for another post tomorrow about Cadel's four month check up.

First Trip to the Farmers Market

Yesterday Cadel, Mom and Dad made our first trip to the Marin Farmers Market since Cadel was born. The weather was fantastic and Cadel was very interested in all the people and bright colored fruits and vegetables.
We are planning on this becoming our weekly family trip. Once Cadel is old enough Mom and Dad will ride our bikes to the market with him in tow behind us. Our neighbors also take their two small children to the Sunday Farmers Market. So who knows. Maybe it will become a neighborhood tradition.

Cadel is now rolling over all the time. He is also starting to scoot around on his own. He is not crawling yet but that isn't far away. Once he figures out how to use his arms he will be crawling all over the place. Good thing we already have a baby gate for the top of the stairs. Now we just need to see what the dog thinks of him once he get mobile.

Daycare starts & Cadel goes to the Giro

Last week Cadel started to attend New Moon daycare as mom headed back to work. Cadel handled the first day much easier than mom did. The daycare staff says he is doing great and is a fantastic addition to their other kids. There is only one other baby at the daycare so he and Cadel get lots of attention. The babies even have their own room none of the older kids are allowed to enter.
Besides lots of love Cadel goes out on walks almost every day and he is being exposed to spanish. The lady who takes care of the babies only speaks spanish to the kids. So now Cadel has one grandmother speaking German to him, one grandmother speaking Hebrew to him, Spanish at the daycare and English at home. This is going to be one linguistically versed kid.

This past weekend Cadel attended his first bicycle race. It was the San Francisco Metromint Giro. He was a very good boy cheering for our friend Mark and sleeping a couple times during the long day so mom and dad could relax. Cadel is definitely taking after dad's ability to sleep through just about anything. There were cheering fans, ringing cow bells, a loud announcer and even some crashes here and there. None of it seems to bother him as he slept in his stroller or watched the bikes fly by for hours.

Just as a side note check out some of the first pictures on this blog compared to the recent pictures. He is growing so fast!

Mommy got a new camera...

Here is Cadel in all of his handsome glory. There will be more to come. Mommy is making everyone sick of pictures :(

Last week Cadel had some new "firsts". He has mastered the roll from back to tummy and is working on the opposite way now. Our little boy also had his first laugh. We must now begin polishing up our jokes so we can hear him giggle some more.

Many more "firsts" to come. He is growing up so fast...

Happy three month Birthday

Saturday was Cadel's three month birthday. A whole quarter of a year old. Doesn't sounds like much but our little one is changing so much week by week three months is a big milestone. Cadel spent the day attending Ethan Siva's first birthday party in Burlingame. The party featured among other things a pony, Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, a pinata and a clown. Unfortunately we had to leave before the really cool cake was served. The whole family had a great time even though Dad got lost on his bike ride to the party.
New pictures will be coming soon from Mom's fancy new camera.Check back soon!

San Antonio Texas...Yeehaw!

Last week Cadel traveled with Mommy to San Antonio to meet his Great Grandfather Biery. Cadel did very well on the two connecting flights from San Francisco, mostly resting up for his big adventure. Oma traveled to Texas before we arrived and picked us up at the airport. Then we headed to Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather Biery's house for our visit. Cadel was quite taken with GGF Biery and I think the feeling was mutual. During our stay, Cadel also got to meet cousin Robert, GGF Biery's brother Sam and his wife CB and Great Uncle Chip. Cadel especially liked the trip because he got to sleep with Mommy in her bed like a big boy.

After a few days visit, Cadel and Mommy headed home to San Francisco. Cadel somehow slept through the dog in the adjacent row who whined and barked nonstop for the 3 1/2 hour flight. Once we reached the airport, we hopped on Bart and headed to SF to meet Daddy. Cadel loved watching the scenery fly by as the train moved. Once in SF we introduced Cadel to all of Daddy's co-workers, had a quick lunch and headed home for a nice, long nap.

Leaving on an airplane

Yesterday Cadel headed to the airport for his first big trip. At 8:40 he boarded a flight for San Antonio, Texas with Mom. He is going to visit Great grandpa Charles who is Mom's Grandfather. He and great grandma live in San Antonio where Mom spent part of her time growing up.
While Cadel is in Texas he will also get to meet his great unlce Chip and maybe a few other family members. Unfortunately Dad had to stay home and work. Boooooo.
The picture above is Cadel on the first leg of the flight to Texas. Mom says he behaved very well for the entire trip.

Last Friday we had a full house with 12 people over. It was a mini family reunion with Elisabeth, Bill and Amy in town from Houston. Mike, Zach and GG came over from the East Bay and Savta and Dave were down from Redding. It was a very nice BBQ and Cadel was sure to show off his smiles and cute baby sounds most of the evening.

The next day we headed to San Francisco for Aiden Kirkley's first birthday party. It was a very nice day in SF. The party was even in our old neighborhood. Ah memories...

Of course the highlight of the weekend, selfishly, was Mom and Dad's first date night since Cadel joined us. It was a nice present from Savta (to watch him for a few hours) while she was in town so we could head out.

Cadel is a party animal already. In the past three weeks he has been to three birthday parties and wedding. Now he is off to Texas! What a social life for a 10 week old.

Another busy weekend

There seems to be no rest for Cadel on the weekends. The highlight of the weekend? The first Father-Son trip to Home Depot! Dad was sure to point out all the fun items available at the hardware store. It was very good father son bonding.
Cadel needed to have some fun after getting his first round of vaccines earlier in the week. He made it through OK but was not very happy at all. The next round comes in two more months.

Another first this weekend was getting a picture of Cadel with a smile on his face. Cadel has been smiling on a regular basis for a little over two weeks but as soon as he seems a camera the smile goes away. Well yesterday Mom was just sneaky enough to get a picture of him smiling before he saw the camera. As cute as can be don't you think.

The coming weekend will be packed with visitors. Elisabeth, Amy & Bill will be visiting from Houston. Then on Saturday we are heading into San Francisco for Aiden Kirkley's 1st birthday. Hopefully Cadel doesn't sleep through another birthday as he did with Brady a few weeks ago.
See you back here early next week.

Busy weekend & Growing quickly

Cadel had quite the busy weekend. He attended a wedding just outside of Auburn, Ca and then went to a birthday party the next day.
He behaved perfectly for the ceremony and the reception. All the other parents were jealous of our well behaved baby boy. Well... maybe they weren't but we think they were.

Cadel was able to meet some of my good friends from high school and the Edwards. All said had lots of first this weekend. First wedding, first night in a hotel, first road trip (even though it was short)and he got hang out at a lake for the first time.

On Sunday we drove from Auburn down to Oakland to go Zach Lindheim's 2nd birthday. As always Mike and Melissa threw a very fun and family friendly party. Lots of kids, food, paint and smiles to go around. Cadel was able to meet Marion Bar Din and Suzy Lindheim for the first time.

Now the Cadel update:

Today Cadel had his two month check up. Unfortunately that meant starting vaccines. The little guy had four shots. Two in each leg. Mom said he was not happy to say the least but calmed down shortly after the shots were over.
He weighed in at 10lbs 14oz (4.6kg). That is a weight gain of 4 lbs 9oz in just over eight weeks since leaving the hospital. Kathy (his pediatrician) said he looks great. Pictures coming with the next post.
His next round of shots is in two more months.

Daddy daycare

Yesterday was Cadel and Dad day. Mom had a baby shower down in the south bay so Cadel and I went to Brady Flatt's first birthday party. Cadel was nice enough to take a nap for two hours in Brady's crib at the party. This let Dad spend some time with friends I had not seen a little while and even have some food. Cadel impressed everyone with his sleeping skills and Dad was happy he did.
The party was a lot of fun. Lots of little kids and happy parents. Cadel was able to meet some of his future friends. He also was able to meet some people who had not seen him yet.
Before the party we took the dog to the park so she could play and get a little tired before we headed out. Cadel always has fun watching the dogs run around and play.
All around it was a very nice Cadel and Dad day. Can't wait for the next one!

Working out already! Cadel's first push-up

That's right! Little 61/2 week old Cadel just did his first push up. Now he is only 499 push-ups behind how many dad does each day ;).
Next thing you know he'll be biking to and from day care. Even though this is a great development I think it spells the beginning of trouble for Mom and I. First push-ups then rolling over then walking then running.... oh boy.

Cadel's Fourth of July!

Cadel made the drive out to Danville for the fourth of July to enjoy it at the Schwartz family home. The weather was amazing, the food was delicious and the company was fantastic. There were lots of young kids there with Cadel being the youngest. Unfortunately he was a little too young to go in the pool. Next year he'll definitely make a splash with everyone else.

Father's Day Fun

It has been a little while since our last post. Above is a picture from Father's Day of our little family. Uncle Mike and Aunt Melissa were kind enough to have us over to their house. They met Cadel for the first time along with his cousins Shauna and Zach. Great-grandma was also there along with a visit from Dominic. Quite the little family gathering.
Since our last post Cadel has been getting bigger everyday and sleeping a little longer at night. Good news for Erin and I. Of course once he starts teething the sleepless nights will start all over again. He can also hold up his head up on his own for quite a while. He loves showing off his big blue eyes these days.
Tomorrow Mom and Cadel get to go spend some time with Murat, Natalia and Maya. I'm sure it will be fun.

Not so little anymore

Today Mom took Cadel to his third doctor's appointment to check on his progress. He has grown two inches since being born three weeks ago. He has also put on some serious weight.
Our little guy was only 6 pounds 5 ounces when he left the hospital on May 24th. Today on June 15th he is now 8 pounds 7 ounces! What a weight gaining champ. That is 34 ounces in three weeks.
At this rate he will be bigger than dad by the time he hits first grade.

Unfortunately the next doctor's appointment at the end of July will not be as pleasant. He is scheduled for his first round of shots then. We are already getting the ear plugs ready. We are sure he won't be shy when it comes to showing his displeasure with the situation.

Cadel's big Friday Night and Saturday afternoon

Friday night was Cadel's first big night out on the town. Mom, Dad and Cadel met the Berringers for sushi in San Rafael. Everyone had a great time. Elizabeth showed off her newly acquired edamame eating skills while Erin and Kfir shared sushi with Todd an Jackie.

On Saturday the Lindheim family, including Scarlett, went to the Fairfax Festival. Cadel was able to meet Erin Garvey and Raf for the first time. The weather was fantastic. Not too hot and not too cold with a mix of sun and light clouds. We enjoyed the weather, food, art and music before heading home. Quite a busy weekend for little Cadel. Today we are heading out to do some shopping then relaxing to end the weekend.

Enjoying the weather on a Saturday afternoon

Yesterday Mom, Dad, Cadel and Scarlett took a nice walk along the Fawn Ridge trail. The weather was beautiful but little Cadel decided to nap the entire walk. The Bob Revolution stroller Uncle Nate and Sunny bought for Cadel worked great. It would be hard to walk the offroad trails without it. We'll probably take another walk today to get everyone some fresh air and exercise.
Cadel was up most of the night last night so he'll probably sleep the entire walk again but at least Mom, Dad and the the dog can enjoy the weather and the view.

Monday, June 1, 2009

Getting bigger everyday

Today Cadel had his second doctor's appointment. In his 10 days of life Cadel has already gained 12 ounces. That is quite a pace he is setting. He now weighs in at a trim 7 lbs 1 ounce or 3.2 kilograms for those of you on the metric system.
His next check up is in two weeks when he will be a month old. Time is flying by already. Next thing we know he will be heading off to college.

Heading home for the first time

Here we are leaving the hospital after Mom and Cadel were given the all clear from the doctors. Savta (Kfir's Mom), Oma (Erin's Mom), uncle AJ (Kfir's brother) and Scarlett (our dog) are all waiting at home for Cadel's first appearance.

Here I come

On May 20, 2009 Cadel decided he was ready to make his way into this world. Little did we know at the time how long a process labor would be. Being the amazing mother she is Erin endured over 50 hours of labor.
Cadel Joseph Lindheim was born at 11:10 AM on Friday May 22, 2009 at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae California. Cadel has dark brown hair, big blue eyes and a slightly olive skin tone just like dad.
Doctor Jennifer Voss delivered. She was a fantastic doctor working with us to deliver Cadel how we wanted. We can not thank Dr. Voss or the other doctors and nurses enough for a great birth experience.
Here is a picture of Mom, Dad and baby just after delivery.

Mother's Day lunch at Mike and Melissa's house in Oakland. May 10, 2009 was Cadel's due date but he decided he just was not ready yet.
When will he make his debute? Well we know for sure it will be either on or before May 21, 2009.
We will be back when we have more information.
